GITHOT News |

GITHOT is a fun, board game convention in Round Rock, Texas, just north
of Austin. GITHOT 1 was Jan. 11-13, 2008. It was a great success and we
thank our sponsors of Great Hall Games, Nortstar Games, and TimeWellSpent.
We haven't determined the date for the next GITHOT. Check this page often
or join the Central
Texas Boardgames Meetup to make sure you know as soon as we announce
the dates.
Many thanks to everyone who made GITHOT 1 a success by helping set up
or close down, bringing drinks or snacks to share, promoting GITHOT on
your blog, hanging posters for GITHOT at work or in game stores, securing
game donations and sponsorships, posting about GITHOT in geeklists, bringing
games for the shared library, organizing the shared library, participating
in the tournaments, helping run a tournament, helping design a shirt for
the event, pouring water out of the cooler, delivering games, inviting
friends, teaching games, sharing photos, and more.

| The following information
is tentative for the next GITHOT. $20 pre-paid got you in GITHOT
1 for the entire weekend. We plan on announcing the next GITHOT
with more notice. This means actually booking a ballroom instead
of wating and finding a week where there is an open slot for us
in the conference center. Booking the double-ball room will also
increase costs for the next GITHOT.
Pre-registration: You may choose to register in advance for a discount
and to guarantee your attendance. A one day membership to the event
is $12. Membership for the entire weekend is $30. Membership for
a couple is $20 for one day and $45 for the weekend. If you choose
to wait and register at the event, a one day pass is $15 in cash
or check at the door. If you must drop out, please let us know so
we can free your slot for someone else. Pricing is a little more
than the first GITHOT to ensure we get the room we need for the
entire convention.
Registration at the Door: We will be taking registrations at the
door as well by cash or by check. Door price for the weekend is
$30. For any one day, the price is $15. Supervised children 12 and
over may play in the open gaming area for free when accompanied
by a paying adult. There is no couple pricing at the door. Register
early to secure your discount.

Registration:
Your registration entitles you to the following:
- Entry in any and all tournaments.
- Door prizes. Keep your prize ticket. You must be present to
win. If you are not going to be there Saturday when the door prizes
are given out, give your ticket to a really good friend.
- Snacks and drinks. We'll bring plenty to share. You may optionally
do the same.
- Free Wireless Internet Access while attending the convention.
Limited Attendance
Registration at the door will only be granted if there is room.

We will be in the conference center, a stand-alone building behind
the hotel. Come in and check the sign for our room.
Book early and ask for the GITHOT rate at the Wingate hotel. Make
sure you ask for a double room if that is what you want.
